The developers are planning a four-story apartment building on the site. The restaurant closed in 1989. The Paul Williams designed building at 4101 Wilshire Boulevard will be razed, but the developers plan to incorporate some of its distinguishing features such as the porte cocohere and the copper canopy. The development will be called Perino's Apartments. Tom Carey, a partner in the firm, said he will be meeting with neighbors to determine the best plans for the 48-unit apartment building which will transition from two stories facing the homes to the south, to four stories on the Wilshire Boulevard side. There will be two levels of underground parking. Headquartered in West Los Angeles, the firm has erected four story apartment buildings on Beverly Glen and Westgate Avenue. Carey
hopes to begin construction within the next 8 to 10 months. |
